Historic Preservation

Historic New Chauncey Neighborhood contains a collection of late nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century buildings which reflect the architectural characteristics of six primary styles. The predominant architectural styles in the district are Bungalow, Folk Victorian, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, American Foursquare, and Queen Anne. In some cases, architectural stylistic details have blended through a process of evolution of styles.  There are more than 600 contributing homes in the New Chauncey District making it one of the largest in Indiana.
