The New Chauncey Neighborhood
The New Chauncey Neighborhood in West Lafayette Indiana provides everything needed for a family, all within an easy walk from any home. The New Chauncey Neighborhood Association (NCNA) was formed in 1977 to preserve and rejuvenate the architecture and quality of life in this historic and vibrant neighborhood.
This diverse community above the banks of the Wabash River, has a rich history and is home to both Happy Hollow Elementary and West Lafayette Junior/Senior High schools. Both schools are Four Star Schools and rate highly in the state for standardized test scores and quality education. The neighborhood is also home to the West Lafayette Municipal Pool (adjacent to Happy Hollow Elementary School), and hosts two community Parks - Lincoln and Centennial.
The new state of the art West Lafayette Public Library and the Morton Community Center offer a variety of classes for preschoolers through adult learners again within minutes by foot.

With annual events like the Boiler Blast, Halloween Parade, Annual Soup & Dance, the Bake and Garage Sale, and Welcome Back Picnic, the neighbors get to know each other and are engaged in keeping the community welcoming. Mixing with the student community provides an excellent source of baby sitters, snow shovelers, lawn mowers, and pet sitters. The events at Purdue are also right in the neighborhood.
In the interest of historic preservation, and to keep the houses affordable for young families, financial assistance is available to qualifying citizens through New Chauncey Housing Inc.
