There are a number of good online resources for residents, property owners, and agents to use for researching, codes, people and vehicles. Below we ave included a number of the more popular sites.
- The West Lafayette City Code is available online from the City's website.
- Tippecanoe County Court Records can be checked online. Look for Superior Courts 4 is usually small claims and evictions.
- VINElink provides custody and release information for offenders throughout the state for participating agencies.
- Indiana's Most Wanted offers the ability to monitor your employees, tenants and others for active warrants. (participating counties)

Limited Criminal History Search Obtain limited criminal history records for pre-employment screenings on individuals or self-inquiries through the Indiana State Police database. Supply a valid reason for request and the required information -- then print the record from your printer. Approximately $15.00 per query. Don’t forget that many law enforcement agencies offer checks for a nominal fee.
- Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles has a Driver License Searchfeature by license number, name and birth date, or social security number. Ten year driving histories are available. Commercial licenses included. Following a successful search, you will be offered the option to digitally certify your results for a nominal additional fee. ($7.50).
- Vehicle Registration Record Search is a great research tool.
Due to the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), in order to access the BMV Records you must have an IN.gov Account. Subscription fee of $50, which includes 10 user names and passwords. Search Options: * Vehicle Identification Number VIN AND Social Security Number. Information Displayed: Vehicle Registration Information, Online Fee $5.00 per record
